At St Patrick's Catholic Primary School, we believe that lunchtime is an important part of the school day and an opportunity for children to enjoy healthy, nutritious food in a welcoming environment.
We are proud to work in partnership with Aspens, who provide freshly prepared, high-quality meals each day from our on-site kitchen. Our menus are carefully planned to offer a wide variety of balanced and nutritious meals, helping children to develop healthy eating habits while enjoying delicious food with their friends.
Children are offered a choice of main meals each day, including vegetarian options, alongside freshly prepared desserts, salads and seasonal vegetables. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils can enjoy their lunchtime experience, with dietary requirements and allergies carefully catered for.
For those children who prefer a packed lunch, we ask that families provide a healthy lunchbox that supports our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles. As we are a nut-free school, packed lunches must not contain nuts or nut-based products.
Our kitchen has been awarded a 5-Star Food Hygiene Rating, reflecting the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and preparation. We are proud of the excellent service provided by our catering team and the positive dining experience they create for our children each day.
We encourage all families to take advantage of the excellent school meal offer available at St Patrick's and look forward to children enjoying healthy, nutritious meals in the heart of our school community.
St Patrick's school is fully compliant with the safety protections set out for all schools in September 2026 under Benedict’s Law, named after Benedict Blyth.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 attending state-funded schools in England are entitled to receive a free school meal, regardless of their family's income or financial circumstances.
This is known as Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) and ensures that every child in the infant years has access to a healthy, nutritious meal during the school day.
Children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) may be eligible for Income-Based Free School Meals if their parent or carer receives certain qualifying benefits.
Even if your child already receives Universal Infant Free School Meals, it is important to apply if you believe you may be eligible. Successful applications can provide additional funding for the school through the Pupil Premium, helping us to support your child's education and wellbeing.
If you think you may qualify, please contact the school office where we will be happy to assist you with the application process.
