The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding provided by the Government to help schools raise the attainment and improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. At St. Patrick's, this funding is used strategically to provide academic, pastoral and enrichment support, ensuring that barriers to learning are identified and addressed effectively. 

As a school, we recognise that disadvantage can affect children in different ways. Our approach is centred on high-quality teaching, targeted interventions, pastoral support and enrichment opportunities, all designed to help children thrive academically, socially and emotionally. 

Our Commitment to Pupil Premium Pupils

At St. Patrick's, children eligible for Pupil Premium funding may benefit from:

How We Use Our Funding

During the current academic year, our Pupil Premium funding is being used to support:

High-Quality Teaching

We believe excellent classroom teaching has the greatest impact on pupil outcomes. Funding supports teaching assistants, staff training and professional development to ensure all pupils receive the highest quality education.

Targeted Academic Support

Pupil Premium pupils receive additional support through:

• One-to-one reading sessions.
• Small-group interventions.
• Year-group booster clubs.
• Additional teaching where gaps in learning are identified. 

Enrichment and Cultural Capital

We are passionate about ensuring that all children can access experiences that broaden horizons and build confidence. Funding is used to support:

• Educational visits.
• Residential experiences.
• Sports clubs.
• Creative arts activities.
• Music and performance opportunities.
• Wider enrichment experiences. 

Attendance and Wellbeing

Good attendance is essential for success. We provide additional attendance monitoring and support, working closely with families and external agencies when required. Our pastoral team also provides emotional wellbeing and family support through Early Help and other interventions where appropriate.

Our pupil premium strategy is regularly reviewed to ensure funding is having a positive impact on children's outcomes, attendance, wellbeing and wider opportunities.
