Our Parish Community

At St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, we are committed to developing and maintaining strong links with our local parish, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Our partnership with the parish plays a vital role in nurturing the faith journey of our children and strengthening the Catholic life of our school community.

We work closely with Fr Ravi, our Parish Priest, who regularly supports the spiritual development of our pupils through school Masses, liturgies, sacramental preparation and celebrations throughout the liturgical year. His involvement helps our children to deepen their understanding of their faith and strengthens the connection between home, school and parish.

Through our links with St. Patrick's Parish, pupils are encouraged to actively participate in the life of the Church, developing a sense of belonging to the wider Catholic community and growing in their relationship with God.

We value the support and guidance provided by Fr Ravi and our parish community and are grateful for the opportunities they provide for our children and families.

Myanga Missions

Our Partnership with the Poor Clares Myanga Mission

At St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, we are proud of our long-standing partnership with the Poor Clares Myanga Mission. Established by St. Patrick's Parish over ten years ago, this special link has enabled both the parish and the school community to support the children, families and wider community of Myanga through fundraising, prayer and awareness-raising activities.

Our pupils play an active role in this partnership. The Key Stage 2 Choir regularly performs in church and at parish events to help raise funds for projects supporting the mission. In addition, our Mini Vinnies, led by Mrs Kendrick, organise a variety of fundraising and charitable activities throughout the year to support the work of the Poor Clare Sisters.

These valuable links allow our children to develop a greater understanding of the wider world and the challenges faced by communities in other countries. They also provide opportunities to live out the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly those of solidarity, human dignity and the preferential option for the poor.

Through our partnership with the Myanga Mission, we hope to:

• Raise awareness of global inequalities and social justice issues.
• Encourage compassion, generosity and service to others.
• Develop a sense of global citizenship and responsibility.
• Foster friendships and connections across different cultures and communities.
• Support the incredible work carried out by the Poor Clare Sisters.

This partnership is an important part of our Catholic Life and helps our pupils understand how they can make a positive difference in the lives of others through faith, prayer and action. We are proud to continue supporting the Poor Clares Myanga Mission and look forward to strengthening these links for many years to come.

The Mini Vinnies

Mini Vinnies

The Mini Vinnies are the junior branch of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) and are an important part of the Catholic Life of St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School.

Led by Mrs Kendrick and Mrs Price, the Mini Vinnies are a dedicated group of pupils from across the school who work together to put their faith into action by helping others and serving the wider community.

Throughout the year, the Mini Vinnies plan and organise a variety of fundraising, charitable and community events both within school and at St. Patrick's Church. Through their work, they demonstrate Gospel values such as compassion, kindness, service and respect for others.

The Mini Vinnies play an active role in supporting local, national and international charities while encouraging the whole school community to think about the needs of others and how they can make a positive difference.

Some of Our Recent Activities Include:

• The Retired Parishioners' Tea Party
• Fundraising events for local and international charities
• Supporting parish projects and community initiatives
• Organising seasonal collections and charitable appeals
• Promoting awareness of Catholic Social Teaching across the school

Through these experiences, pupils develop leadership skills, confidence, responsibility and a deeper understanding of their role as active members of God's family.
