    PE and Sport Premium

At St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, we are committed to promoting healthy, active lifestyles and ensuring that all children have access to high-quality Physical Education and sporting opportunities.

The Government provides primary schools with additional funding through the PE and Sport Premium to improve the quality of PE, sport and physical activity. This funding is ring-fenced and must be used to enhance the provision of physical education and sport for all pupils.

The funding is allocated directly to primary schools across England and is designed to help schools access specialist expertise, improve resources and increase participation in physical activity. Schools receive a fixed allocation along with additional funding based on the number of primary-aged pupils on roll.

How We Use Our Sport Premium Funding

At St. Patrick's, we use our Sport Premium funding to further enhance the quality of PE, school sport and physical activity by:

    • Investing in high-quality PE and sports equipment.
    • Working in partnership with the Telford Sports Partnership.
    • Employing specialist coaches to deliver high-quality sports coaching and activities.
    • Providing professional development opportunities for staff through team teaching and coaching support.
    • Enhancing the quality of PE lessons across the school.
    • Increasing opportunities for pupils to participate in competitive sports and festivals.
    • Promoting healthy lifestyles and physical wellbeing for all children.

Our coaches work alongside our teaching staff to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in delivering high-quality PE lessons, helping to ensure a lasting impact on teaching and learning.

    Our Commitment

We are dedicated to ensuring that every child enjoys PE and sport, develops confidence in physical activity and has opportunities to achieve their personal best.

The impact of Sport Premium funding is carefully monitored and evaluated to ensure that improvements are sustainable and continue to benefit pupils for years to come.
