Our School Council

At St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, our School Council plays an important role in ensuring that pupils have a voice and can contribute positively to school life. School Council members are elected to represent their classmates and work together to help make our school an even better place to learn, grow and flourish.

Roles and Responsibilities

Members of the School Council are expected to:

• Be the voice of the pupils and represent the views of their classmates.
• Help to keep our school website updated with information about past, present and future projects.
• Promote respect, kindness and tolerance throughout the school community.
• Take their role seriously and act as positive role models by being approachable, friendly and responsible.
• Help children know who they can talk to if they have worries or concerns.
• Support children in understanding how to keep themselves safe.
• Encourage pupils to make positive choices and follow the school's rules and values.
• Contribute ideas that help to improve school life for everyone.
• Work collaboratively with staff and fellow pupils to make a positive difference within our school community.

Through their leadership role, School Council members develop confidence, responsibility, communication skills and a greater understanding of democracy and citizenship, helping them to become active and responsible members of society.
