    Applying for Free School Meals

    Universal Infant Free School Meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 attending state-funded schools in England are entitled to receive a free school meal, regardless of their family's income or financial circumstances.

This is known as Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) and ensures that every child in the infant years has access to a healthy, nutritious meal during the school day.

    Income-Based Free School Meals

Children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) may be eligible for Income-Based Free School Meals if their parent or carer receives certain qualifying benefits.

Even if your child already receives Universal Infant Free School Meals, it is important to apply if you believe you may be eligible. Successful applications can provide additional funding for the school through the Pupil Premium, helping us to support your child's education and wellbeing.

If you think you may qualify, please contact the school office where we will be happy to assist you with the application process.

You can also find further information and details of eligibility criteria on the Telford & Wrekin Council website using the link below.
