The School Day

 

 

At St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, we believe that a well-structured school day provides children with the best opportunities to learn, grow and flourish. Our daily routines are carefully planned to maximise learning while ensuring children have opportunities for play, prayer, reflection and social interaction.

School Day Timetable

8:30am School doors open
8:40am School day begins
10:30am - 10:45am Morning break
12:00pm - 1:00pm EYFS Lunch
12:00pm - 1:00pm Infant Lunch
12:10pm - 1:00pm Junior Lunch
Afternoon Infant classes may take a short afternoon break of up to 10 minutes
3:10pm School day ends
3:20pm School gates close

Collective Worship and Prayer

Collective Worship forms an important part of daily life at St. Patrick's and reflects our Catholic ethos and Mission Statement.

Prayer and worship take place every day and may be delivered in a:

  • Whole school setting
  • Key Stage setting
  • Class-based setting

These opportunities help children grow in faith, develop spiritually and deepen their relationship with God.

Celebration Assemblies

Our weekly Celebration Assembly takes place every Friday at 10:20am in the school hall.

During these assemblies we:

  • Celebrate pupils' achievements and successes
  • Present Star Awards
  • Recognise excellent effort, behaviour and achievement
  • Share and celebrate accomplishments both in and out of school

School Masses

We warmly welcome parents, carers and family members to join us at our school Masses and liturgical celebrations throughout the year.

Dates and times of Masses will be shared in our weekly newsletter and through school communications.


Nursery School Day

The Nursery timetable has been designed to support younger children and provide flexibility for families.

Time Activity
8:45am Nursery opens
3:15pm Nursery closes

Children attending Nursery for the full day are required to bring a healthy packed lunch.


School Day Information

From September 2023, the school day runs from 8:40am until 3:10pm, with classroom doors opening at 8:30am to allow children to settle and prepare for learning.

We encourage all children to arrive on time each day so they are ready to begin their learning promptly and make the most of every opportunity available to them.
