Our Governing Body

The Governing Body of The Blessed Edward Campion Federation is deeply committed to ensuring that every child receives the highest quality Catholic education in a safe, nurturing and ambitious learning environment.

Governors work closely with school leaders to support, challenge and guide the strategic direction of the federation. Their role is to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to flourish academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.

As a governing body, we are committed to:

• Upholding the Catholic ethos and values of our schools.
• Promoting high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
• Ensuring the wellbeing, safeguarding and welfare of all pupils and staff.
• Providing effective strategic leadership and accountability.
• Supporting school improvement and long-term development.
• Engaging with parents, carers, parish communities and other stakeholders.

What Governors Do

Governors are volunteers who give their time, expertise and experience to support our schools. Their responsibilities include:

• Setting the strategic vision and direction of the federation.
• Monitoring educational performance and pupil outcomes.
• Overseeing financial management and ensuring value for money.
• Ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
• Supporting and challenging school leaders to continually improve provision.
• Monitoring safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Championing the Catholic mission and values of the federation.

Governors regularly attend meetings, visit schools, review policies and work alongside leaders to ensure pupils receive the very best education possible.

The Blessed Edward Campion Federation

On 28 June 2018, St Patrick's Catholic Primary School and Shrewsbury Cathedral Catholic Primary School formed The Blessed Edward Campion Federation, bringing together two Catholic school communities with a shared commitment to excellence, faith and service.
