Term Dates and Leave of Absence

We strongly encourage all holidays and family trips to be taken during the published school holiday periods wherever possible. Regular attendance at school is essential in supporting children's learning, progress and wellbeing.

If there are exceptional circumstances and you need to request leave for your child during term time, a Leave of Absence Request Form must be completed and submitted to the school in advance of the proposed absence.

Please note:

• Parents and carers do not have an automatic right to take their child out of school during term time.
• Leave of absence can only be authorised by the Headteacher in exceptional circumstances.
• Requests should be made as early as possible to allow the school sufficient time to consider the application.
• Unauthorised absences may be referred to the Local Authority in line with current attendance regulations.
