    Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

    At St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, we are committed to supporting every child to achieve their full potential. We work closely with pupils, parents, carers and external agencies to ensure that children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

    Our SEND team can provide advice, support and signposting to a range of specialist services. If you would like to discuss your child's needs or find out more about our SEND provision, please contact Miss Sinha, our SENDCo.

    Strengthening Families SEND

    Strengthening Families provides a range of local services for children and young people aged 0-19 and their families. Support is delivered through children's and family centres and aims to ensure families receive the right help at the right time.

    Parents Opening Doors (PODS)

    PODS is a parent-led organisation that supports families of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities across Telford and Wrekin. They provide information, support groups, activities and advice for parents and carers.

    Children's Autism Hub

    The Children's Autism Hub provides information, advice and support for families of children with autism, helping them to access services and support within the local area.

    Autism West Midlands

    Autism West Midlands offers specialist support, guidance and training for autistic children, young people, adults and their families.

    SENDIASS (Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service)

    Telford SENDIASS provides free, confidential and impartial information, advice and support to parents, carers, children and young people with SEND.

    They work across education, health and social care services and can help families understand their rights, navigate support services and make informed decisions.

    SENDIASS Can Help You:

    • Listen to your concerns and provide information and advice by telephone or in person.
    • Explore options and identify the most appropriate support.
    • Prepare for meetings with schools and professionals.
    • Explain reports written by professionals.
    • Provide information about SEND legislation and processes.
    • Signpost families to additional services and sources of support.
    • Work in partnership with schools and the Local Authority to improve outcomes for children and young people.
